I think White can drum up a Fried Liver type position with 8.Nxf7
instead of 8.Nc3. It certainly looks playable.
Correct. Asolutely. Nc3 was too early as was Qf3, which enabled me to force it away, exchange the knights to effect the fork.I only looked at 8.Nxf7 after the d5 capture and had a hissy. He (elf #, according to my notes ) obviously missed it too.
Just as well as:
8. Nxf7, Kxf7
9. Qf3+, King is best to e6 and then Nc3 and its lost.
It was still unsure of the Sicilian back then but it's coming right now tho.
