I'm playing a game at the moment, and my opponent sent a message across the board saying "I'm going to **** your mother". He did not put the stars in though, it was a swear word beginning with f.
I'm really upset about this, but I didn't reply and nothing more has been said. Should I have to tolerate this sort of abuse? I never use swear words and would never be rude to someone.
Just doesn't seem very nice.
Sorry to moan :'(

Don't let this person get to you. Tell Russ immediately and show no emotion in response. The guy's trying to get a rise out of you. Psychology teaches us that when behavior gets zero response, over time that behavior will stop - though it may increase for a while first. If you respond, especially if you get upset, it will egg him on.

I still think you should provide the game number so this person can be boycotted.
It could be to everyones advantage to shun him.
Let it be dealt with privately, then if it was the player themselves, I am sure the punishement will fit the crime.

Wouldn't they also have to make a move as well? Don't know myself but it seems as if that were the case that person would PM their opponent with a note of explanation. Or even post the explanation in the forums?

I think bambees opponent is just being a crude ass, and I would not want to cross paths with him. Nor would I wish that on any other member of this community.

Let it be sorted privately, and then sling mud afterwards if necessary. If the message was genuinely meant, I am fairly sure the individual concerned would not give a flying flip about a load of others' posts on this forum though... ðŸ˜
