Can't find it πŸ™ Have never tried not to look at the board before. Rxg4 should lead to a draw but what else. I guess it's really easy when you see it infront of you.

That's the diagram as defined above:

If this is correct, then I'm afraid it puts me in the beginners class too 😳

I can not find it even with board setup. I firstly tried blindfold but did not work. I will stick to my usuall way of doing tacticsπŸ˜›

now bit harder. I think many beginners could not solve this even with the board, but it is always worth of trying. anyone who solves this without a board can congratulate himself.

white: Ka1, Qf2, Rf7, a2, b2, c7
black: Ka8, Qe8, Re7, Na7, a6, b7

white to play and win.

EDIT: yeah. I mean without diagram. In ones head, visualizing the position.

Do you mean without a board = without a diagram too? If yes, then I think you are right. If no, why don't you post a diagram?

Well I better make a new reply too.

Yes, I meant without a board and without a diagram. In one's head.

Dont know about the other, but for me solving with the board means having a position on board and then solving it without moving the pieces.

1.Rxe7 Qxe7 2.Qxa7+ Kxa7 3. c8N+ and 4.Nxe7. Took me about three minutes to see it though, and only because I knew there was a forced win.

This might not be for the win, but...

1. Qxf7 Qxf7 2. Qxa7+ Kxa7 3. c8=N+ Ka8 4. Nxf7

EDIT: I had c8=K+, sorry.
