Anyone going to play there? It seems like a quite interesting tournament. Held in Czech Republic, in Pardubice (that's a city there), in July.
Here is the PDF for the whole festival. Blitz, teams, bughouse, Open, GM tournament, solving - pretty much everything.

Originally posted by DagamoStyleI'm also planning to go, but I will play in C group, because I have no FIDE rating and, anyway, B would probably be too strong for me.
Yes, I think it is an interesting chess event, in Pardubice. I have never been there but I am planning to go down there this year. For me it will be the "B-tournament".
Originally posted by DagamoStyleI've twice played the closed IM tournament in Olomouc (Czech Republic), which takes place immediately after Pardubice. Olomouc is a very pleasant historic town - typical Mitteleuropa! I've only been through Pardubice on the train. It's also supposed to be a very nice place, if rather pretentious (by local standards). Pardubice is most famous for its steeplechase - a bit like the English Grand National at Aintree, Liverpool.
I wish you, kbauman, good luck in the C-group with around 280 players! In the B-group, I am going to "take care of" 396 players.
All together there are over 1800 players in all of the tournaments in Pardubice this summer 🙂
God, some of these filters are so inane. In my first draft for the above post, instead of the word 'pretentious' (which is not really the word I wanted to use) I used a six letter word, a close synonym, beginning with 'sw' and ending 'ky'. As soon as I tried to make the post, I was told I had sent an offensive post and was warned as to my future conduct and threatened with removal from the site! I can only assume that the filter removed the initial 's' from the above word. Have these guys never heard of whole words or are they just incompetent? Just hope we don't have any subscribers from a town ending 'thorpe', in Yorkshire, England!
