Can anyone name or suggest any types of openings, defences or strategies as my rating has gone down loads since 2 of my opponents have timed me out. I just mean the name of a move to type into google or yahoo .
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In Game 1006598, you drop material left and right. You seem to lack even a basic idea of how not to lose material. This is the factor that you need to work on before anything else.
In order to improve this problem, after you've picked a move you want to make, look at every single possible move your opponent can make and see if they would be able to take anything of yours for free. Start with all his Pawns, then go to his Knights, then Bishops, then Rooks, then Queen, then King. It's kind of annoying to do this but it will improve your game incredibly.
Game 1016317 looks almost like it's being played by a different person. You don't drop anything until the very end, and then it's because of some slightly subtle tactical tricks like when you drop the Bishop on move 10.
In Game 1016263 you did even better. Were you drunk for your last game (the first one I linked)? It looks like you lost this due to a timeout.
In Game 1007548 you made a bizaare King move on move 5. I think you did this in one of the other games too. The first move a King should make is to castle unless you absolutely have no other choice. Stop moving your King around before castling! 7. g4 is another example of you not seeing that your opponent can grab a Pawn for free as are your 12th, 14th, and 18th moves. Somehow you won that game. Did you time out your opponent? He should have won that.

When I start losing games (I lost 6 games just yesterday!) I go back to that process and do better.. but.. then 2 more tournaments start, and I start trying to do quick moves.. one day I'll learn!
