I've used the following message in a similar situation and it bought about an instant resignation:

"Thanks for slowing the pace down - much appreciated. I've a tournament coming up next
month and the extra time practicing this endgame is the best training - under time pressure
in an OTB game I can forget the basic mates"

I see the real problem. You are not a member so you can only play 6 free games. Get a membership. You won't notice those games so much. Problem solved. 🙂 Claim the skull when it shows up in about 8 days. LOL 🙂

There is no need to apologize your opponent only has three games going, he's been moving in the other two every day and has left your game sitting for 10 days waiting for his time to run out.

I wouldn't play another game with someone who did that.

I feel the same way. There is dignity in resigning in a timely manner, and a lack of the same for failing to do so.
