Anyone here playing in the Oxford Rapidplay (30 mins each) this Saturday? If so perhaps we can meet up for a drink after (and quite possibly during) the tournament.

If I am back from work in time I might be tempted to play - what section are you playing in? I have ended up playing opens more nowadays.

There are only two sections, the major (grade limit of 175) and minor (grade limit of 130).

With a rapidplay grade of 142 you would obviously have to enter the major. I'll be in that section as well.

I didn't think there was chess in Oxford.

*Looks at events calendar, yeah I've seen it on the calendar.

It would be good if someone could relay some of the winning combos afterwards. I would expect the majority of games to be ended by tactics/tactical oversights.
