I'm new here, allow me to wonder about PGN created here:

Dear marekt,

You have recently requested a PGN of your games.

No one chess game can start with 1.d5, to my knowledge.

My question is: what happened to all very first moves in the game above?

It looks like a thematic game where white opened with pawn to b4.
Black played d5 and that was the first recorded move.

I found the game.
It's an open invite where 1.b4 was the starting position.
Unrated/thematic game

This was the starting board. So black was the first to.move. You are correct the first move cannot be d5 at least for white. But a game cannot start with a pawn on b4. This was not a typical game. In this game the first move was made by black.

I'd like the option, for thematic tourneys, of having a PGN that starts from the standard position, and has all the moves in it.

Me too.
I'm surprised it recorded the way it did. 🤔

@Eladar

No, never. White was the first to move.
And - this is a simple example.
What to do if the thematic line contains - say - 10 moves for White and Black?
Shall PGN start with move no. 11?

I would think so yes. The pgn you put up came from a pre set board. That initial fen is how you show a pgn starting in the middle somewhere.
