I know exchanging the queen might have been a mistake on my part, but post that could either of us have done anything different to get a result out of the game? Game 1618627
Originally posted by gaurav2711Immediately after the queen exchange, your opponent had the better chances because of your pawn structure, but he tried to cash in his advantage much too quickly. 36.Rxh6 was a huge mistake, taking one of his rooks out of play to go after a wing pawn that could have been won easily enough a bit later anyway. He should have kept your rook off of his second rank with something like 36.R1c2 to limit your counterplay. Then he could get his king into the game to guard against the penetration points, and force you to trade off a pair of rooks by threatening to double them on the seventh rank. You did well to make him pay for the mistakes he made. At least he didn't panic when you got your queen back, and he knew how to keep the game drawn.
