Nobody here plays f4? Interesting.

f4 is normally played for the surprise element. If you post that you play f4 in this thread then you lose that.

Well, we'll see about that.

im using the english as white atm (grr mateulose) as well as the KG.
sometimes i play standardly hoping for 4 knights game so i can use the halloween attack 🙂

as black i use the grob, owens defense and recently the QID (not having much luck with that yet) or just e5 and get strange later on. i often offer non-standard countergambits

Yep, just won my first game using the trusty old Bird's Opening.

Let the record show that my last post was meant to be sarcastic.

I never really studied openings but for white I generally use The Italian Game or what my coach calls the fried liver(not sure of the technical name) which can work or create a congested which are annoying. For black I usually just let stuff happen but sometimes against d4 I play c5. Josh

Actually, it was more a matter of my opponent losing than my winning. I was kind of in a bind, but instead of taking the advantage, my opponent chose to go after my queen instead.
