"A good sacrifice is one that is not necessarily sound but leaves your opponent dazed and confused" - Rudolf Spielmann (1935, The art of sacrifice)

I have just performed what I think is probably the most risky and probably the best queen sacrifice I have ever done.
Take a look and let me know what you think, Game 380037

You shouldn't be asking people to comment on a game in progress, especially a rated game played in a (presumably) serious clan match!

Yes, I know this, but my opponent has already acknowledged this game is over, if you look you will see he only has one possible move he can make and then I have mated him. All I was seeking was an opinion of an earlier move, nothing discussed will change the outcome. Both me and my opponent knows this.

Even if what you say were true, it doesn't change anything on the fact that this is a game in process.

I have just acknowledged this in my previous post, and I admit I should have waited until game was complete.

now that the game is done, it seems that your queen sacrifice worked, but what would have been the outcome if white played 19. Ne2 instead of 19. Kf2? It seems to me that white's king could have escaped mate, with a significant material advantage.

19. Ne2 Bxh2+
20. Kd1 Rxf1++

Doesn't make much of a difference.

I gave the position after move 18 to my ChessMaster, and it gives a mate for black, but it takes a lot of moves. The start goes like this:

19. Ba3 c5
20. Qb2 Be7
21. Qe5 O-O-O
22. Qe7 Ne7
23. Bc5 Nf5
24. Nc3 Ng3
25. Kf2 Rg2+
26. Ke1 Nf1
27. Kf1 Rdd2

and now black clearly has a better position and will win.
If you saw all this, then you had a very, very good day 😀. If you have more of these, then we will see you in the top 20 soon!
So it is a very good sacrifice. Sometimes you have to things like this because it feels good, although you cannot overlook all the consequences. And if it then all works out, then you feel like a grandmaster!

I don't care if there was a way out that a GM might have found, or if mate could have been avoided for another 20 moves, it was a damn fine sacrafice! Well played!

Thanks all.
I am pretty sure that it will be a long time before I risk a queen like that again, as soon as I clicked on the move button I started panicking.
Thanks for all the comments.
