I played the opening in Game 1144912 (which is completed) following the advice in an opening book. The author said that if Black does not play 10 ... Be7 he will find the pin on his Knight to be very inconvenient. It certainly wasn't for him the way I played it.
After the game was over I had Fritz 8 do a deep analysis after 10 ... a5, and by move 16 Fritz gives Black a (positional) advantage of a bit more than a pawn.
I would appreciate hearing others' analyses of the position.
