I know that players may not castle out of check, castle into check, or castle through check.
The castle through check rule is interesting. I'm fairly certain I once played a game on RHP in which the RHP java applet (or whatever it is that decides whether a move is legal) would not allow O-O-O because the rook had to pass through a square which was under attack. However, the king did not, and so the king itself was not moving through check.
However, I have just tried this in ChessMaster9000, and the move is allowed.
Which is correct? If this is a recognised fault in RHP, are there any plans to correct it?
Originally posted by UncleBucketYour first sentence is correct. There is nothing about the Rook being threatened that will stop check. If your observation and recollection are correct, then the site has a problem. This is not a recognized fault in RHP as far as I know; this is the first I've heard of it.
