Quick question about tournaments

Actually neither. The site admins have to actually start the tournaments which they do sometime after it fills up. Sometimes it's a matter of hours; sometimes a matter of days. The only way you really know when it's started is when the Tournament games show up at the bottom of your My Games page or by checking the Tournaments page and a started Tornament will have a green box in front of it and the words "In progress". Hope that helps (good question).
