Hi, I just finished this exciting game here:
Game 666337
Is a rook, bishop, and pawn a winning endgame or a draw against a rook and pawn? Was this game a drawn game or a won game? What are your opinoins of the game throughout?
I just wondered about 16...Qh2+, instead of 16...Bxf1?
Looks like there is a mate in there?
I'm not a strong player..
(seems I have made that statement a lot :-) it's true though)
Example:
16... Qh2+
17 Kg2 Bxf1
18 Kxf1 Qh1+
19 Ke2 Rh2+
20 Ke3 Rh3+
21 Kf2 Qh2+
22 Kf1 Qf4+
23 Ke1 Rh1+
24 Ke2 Rh2+
25 Kd3 Qd4#
Many possibilities in there, so I can't be sure that
white can't stop the mate.
Can anyone make white king escape?

19 . . . Qg3+
20 Bg2 Qf2+
21 Kh1 Rh8++
White can throw the queen and bishop in the way, but it's still mate.
As for the endgame, I would've thought black could force the draw but white's positioning was pretty good.
Originally posted by DecanterCorrect, basic mating pattern there, I'm VERY surprised a 1550 rated player didn't pick that up. He must be cheating to get his rating somehow. . . 🙄
No, but I can make it simpler for you:

BTW, 19 Qg3+ isn't necessary, black acheives an easy mate in two with 19. . . Qf2+ , where the king has no choice but to move on h1, then Rfh8++. Well, it's not technicly a mate in two because white can do two useless interposes, but it's still even quicker then your solution. I am around his rating, and I would pick this up in about 5 seconds at most.
Ouch I didn't see that mate there. In the moves preceeding I felt pretty good about my position because I had four pawns for the piece. Thank goodness Black didn't pick up Qh2 or I would have been toast.
I'm gussing greed got the best of him and blinded him from the mate.
But in general, in the endgame was there a easy drawing line for Black? Can anyone also tell me if in general R+B+P against R+P draws?
At different points in the game, can you state who had the advantage and why? I know I was being killed in the middle game until I exchanged queens.
Could Black have avoided a material loss at that point in any way? And also gained an advantage there?
