I'm playing two games against a 2100 player. Due to personal reasons, overnight he resigned a multitude of games bringing his rating down to 1040. My rating is currently 1400. Should I lose these two games am I going to get whacked regarding rating points?
If so just doesn't sound fair. Thanks
I got affected by this too. I had two games in progress against him, this one I had an easily won position Game 6390078 and all I got was 1 rating point for my efforts. In my other game against him, I am losing (but still sort of playable) and he didn't resign that one, so I am probably going to lose 32 rating points. And to make matters worse it is a tournament game and he resigned against everyone else but me and checkagain.
If you really care about your rating points, just play really slow against him, he has 120 games in progress, his rating will be back to normal in a few weeks.
