I'm a habitual 1.d4 player.
There are, of course, a range of posible replies for black.
However, I've found that, on this site, practically nobody plays the Grunfeld Defence.
In otb games etc, it is relatively common, but I can't remember a single game with this opening here.

Is this just coincidence? Is there are reason for this?

The King's and Nimzo-Indian seem most popular replies here. I must take a look at the Grunfield as I'm also unsure of the best line to take against 1.d4 myself.

I also play 1d4 in over the board play and hardly ever see the Grunfeld. Do you play in a league or tornaments or both as I do? Nf6 is the most common reply I seem to get.

There are people playing and studying the Grünfeld here. The game Game 1051476 is an analysis of a Karpov-Svidler game played in 1999. It is still ongoing, but it doesn't matter, the game is from setup and the outcome of the game is fixed (white wins) anyway.

I seem to get more QGA than I normally do in OTB chess, maybe because it's easier to find ways of neutralising whites play with more study rather than in OTB situations.

The Nimzo-Indian and the Semi Slav Meran variation are the most common d4 openings in my games ... possibly because there's a lot of theory on these openings.

I've found many of the top players play the Grunfeld against me. If you want some practise against it go find some empty siege queues and play meman.

I see about equal amounts of QGD (including Semislav systems) and Catalan (1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. g3 rather than Nc3 and the NimzoIndian). I see lesser amounts of QGA and King's Indian Defense and occasionally the Dutch or something else different.

I always play the Dutch (1...f5) against 1. d4. It's rarely ever seen (in my experiences) and many people do not know how to respond to it. Black can either play solidly with the Stonewall or Classical Variations, or try the sharp Leningrad Variation.

There is an interesting reply to 1.d4 called the "Baltic Defense" which is very flexible for Black and arises after the sequences of 1.d4 d5 2.c4 Bf5 or 1.d4 d5 2.Nf3 Bf5 or 1.Nf3 d5 2.d4 Bf5...
