I don't play blitz anymore because I just can't think fast and accurately enough. If I was twenty years younger....

It's a correspondence site.
There are no ratings/rankings yet.
There are no tournaments or other special features.
There is no 50 move draw rule or draw by 3 repititions implemented yet.
There are superior places to play blitz.
The feature is brand new.

Since it's free it doesn't bother me too much (except for the lack of claim draw), but I'm sure it has a negative effect on participation.
