Scandinavian gambit 1.e4 d5, 2.exd5 3.Nf6, this avoids retaking with the queen and losing tempos, if white tries to protect the pawn he gets into trouble, and what is more, depending on how white plays, we can gambit another pawn, all our pieces come into the game fast, knights to the centre, bishops on good diagonals, rooks on open files and white gets his butt kicked! what more could you ask for? if you want any variations posted just ask, but its late here in Glasgow, so it shall need to wait 😉

the one that feels most natural to you. why? because you perform best in the type of positions that are most familiar to you.

What Robbie said, plus you have the option of using many sound and dangerous gambits.

GM danielsen also has a bunch of scandinavian blitz games on his website, commented in realtime by himself. just click on the 'live blitz games' link.

I wouldn't memorize blitz games, silly. but danielsen illuminates the ideas very well as they come up.

A friend of mine (2100 USCF) has had tremendous success with 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Nf6. I am normally a sicilian player, but I recently bought the book Starting out: The Scandinavian which seems like an excellent book and have been learning the 2...Qxd5 3.Nc3 Qd6 line. I prefer that over Qa5 because it's a bit less known but still sound and gives black a dynamic game. I plan to use it against players who play "annoying lines" against the sicilian (i.e., Grand Prix Attack or closed sicilian)

The everyman book on the Scando by John Emms is great too.

I agree, the best line is 2...Nf6 - it's amazing how many people play 3.c4 and you can then give White a headache right away.

I really dislike those variations of the Scandalous Defense where Black manages to play O-O-O and e5

Is c6 the headache you're talking about here?
After c4, c6 offers a very good and sound gambit. Or the icelandic with e6, but that's not really quite as good. However, white can transpose into a Panov-Botvinnik attack, but that doesn't seem to happen ever.
