I've never heard of it being called that before, but a quick Google search suggests that it has been called the Bronstein variation, the Gubinsky-Melts, the Pytel-Wade variation, the Bronstein-Larsen variation plus all those names with "system" instead of "variation"!

Wait a minute, it's called the bronstein larsen too? But the caro with 5...Nf6 and 6...gxf6 is already called like that.
