What can you tell me about it?

IMHO, I would not recommend using it in today serious OTB games. Although the two main variations (after 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.d4 exd4 4.Bc4) 4... Bb4+ and 4... Bc5 generally result in better play for white, black's best move 4... Nf6! forces transposition into the Max Lange Attack of the Two Knights Defence. Something that you, as white, may not like too much, huh? 😞

p.s. Do you mean with the best move for black 4... Nc6? Because Nf6 was already played.🙂

It is considered by some first level players as being the main alternative to the Spanish. (If you can, try to get The Scotch, by Botterill and Harding, Batsford Ed. Highly recommended).

P.S.: that happens to me often, when "translating" from descriptive to
algebraic notation, sorry! Here I'm going again:
1.e4 e5
2.Nf3 Nc6
3.d4 exd4
4.Bc4 ...
Now, 4. ... Nf6! leads to the Max Lange. Oops! Now it is correct! You've got put me in doubt, hehe! 😀
