Corrspondence, that is... would like to start out slow! Any leads?? Seems to be the one basic variant that schemingmind.com is lacking.

🙂

Of course Russ r0x.

Is there actually such a thing as blindfold correspondence chess? Is that what you're looking for? Just asking, because that seems like it would be almost impossible to play.

Shouldn't really advertise another site, but I think www.itsyourturn.com has all sorts of chess variants - suicide chess, blindfold etc etc

You'd have to be very trusting to play blindfold correspondence chess.

Indeed... but the point would to be able to practice visualization w/o hurrying. Of course you'd be able to see the movelist... and I suppose a person could easily cheat, but if the point is to gain experience it really doesn't matter.

I'd hate to have to strain my mind visualizing a board and pieces for thirty moves only to find out my opponent was a six year old watching a cardboard set all the time.

Yes... but get whipped a few dozen times by said six-year-old and my hunch is your game would improve markedly.

Or perhaps you'd just end up on a three week heroin bender.

having the move list is not allowed during blindfold i think...i'm not sure how good fritz is with blindfold but chessmaster10000 lets you play blinfold and you can hear the move played. its say 1.e4 blah blah....

Yes... but the rules are modified a smidge to account for the "correspondence" aspect. I don't think I'd want to have more than one of these going at a time, however.
