Well you never know. We have Game 2423892 and Game 2423887 and Skeeter, brilliant, I mean brilliant as she is is only no.2 because Akizy is indisposed.

Not really, because here the no. 1 is definitely better than the no. 2. PLEASE don't turn this into another thread about Weyerstrass (Squelchbelch, I'm talking to you)

Skeeter kicks ass. She is and always has been one of the best here.

Interesting game! Never knew they actually played. Then why did Morph go nuts over it?

Best at beating the 2200 and under crowd but I don't see much against the 2300's and up.

If I'm not mistaken it was just a consultaion game. Morphy wanted a mano a mano with Staunton but never got it.

Both games that Morphy played against Staunton were 2vs2 games.

Staunton/Owen vs Morphy/Barnes 0-1

Morphy/Barnes vs Staunton/Owen 1-0

Thankfully for Staunton now history can blame the loss on his teammate, here's to hiding behind an amateur teammate! Way to dodge any sort of accountability!

p.s. I'm sure Barnes was the reason they won both games 🙂

When Morphy first came to England he stayed in Staunton's house for
about a week.

They must have had a few skittle games. Surely.

I wonder what happened?

Yes well i can imagine there team mates making suggestions but it's highly unlikely that many (if any) of there suggestions actually made it into the game. Imagine it, Kasparov and Marinkatomb V Karpov and Sonhouse. Where would the moves really be coming from in this game? Me and sonhouse obviously...
