Here is the scenario.

Earth is dying, it's doomed. It has three weeks left.

They decide to send a small space craft out into space so some race
in the Universe may find it and know what we were about.

Onboard is one CD. It is the entire history of the planet Earth.

They send the rules and one complete chess game.

What game do they send?

I say Fool's Mate.

And what peices/ board combo? Do you include on the cd fischer 960?

Edit: This isn't a legal Chess960 starting position - the Kings must be between the Rooks.

One of Tal's best games (can't decide which one).

Or Kasparov-Topalov as randolph says.

Or Fischer-Petrosian/Byrne-Fischer/anything by Fischer which made the game look so logical and simple!

Yes this is a brilliant game.
But taking off the Rook will only confuse the aliens
into thinking that there was a Rook missing from the set.

Here is the game. Just imagine the Rook is missing.

I was thinking about this last night, and would we really want to curse another society with this time wasting plauge that hes consumed so many man hours hear on earth? You didn't say the reason but one could presume the earth is sick because man has wasted so many brillant minds at the board.
