For me sacrifices are something you feel aswel as calculate. If it creates pressure and you think something will snap then you may aswel play it even if you cant see where things will snap. Its only a game after all, we should play a little risky to have more fun, in my opinion.

Game 2747090

22. Nf3+ is my "speculative sac" in this game - and whats more, fritz 8 doesn't like it (i think this maybe due to the horrizon effect and not 'unsoundness'😉, instead fritzy prefers Qd8 (-1.20 eval) Bxf3, or Rf4 ... I however "was certain" that i had a good attack.

unfortunatly, my continueations were far less sound. 🙁

25 Rf6? Nxh3 and now blacks attack isn't strong enough to mate.

22...Bxh3 sac is stronger in that position. if white accepts the sac, black has a mating attack. if not, he's a clear pawn up, and keeps attacking chances.

That's not an uncommon strategy. Not so much an intuitive sac either... the traxler gambit is intuition at its finest, you know aGoRessivE 🙂

perhaps it's not a surprising or uncommon sacrifice, but you can't say it's not intuitive..If you see the game, I win ten moves later (and because he resigns). In my opinion I taked a low-dose-risk, because I had the doubt of his moves until I won..

Traxler gambit? I challenge you to make it again..do you accept? 🙂

A magician never performs that same trick twice. On the other hand.. I am up for that rematch you asked me for. Gimme a 1/7 time control (1/3 is too risky) and I'll play. If you gimme a chance I may just use the traxler again.
