I had F9 analyze a game I had just finished on PC (after I annotated it myself first), and there was a strange glitch in the analysis. Look at it's comment/line for whites move 25. It says that white gives away a clear win, but after the line F9 gives black seems to be far ahead, and it's clearly not a win. On top of that while I was annotating After my 24th move F9's top choice was Qf8+ with a supposed draw, however, after I played Rg8 Qh6 it gave black a -+ evaluation. Anyhow, can anybody explain it?

You have to copy it into something like Fritz/Arena. I'll post the FEN of the position I'm talking about though.

F9 says white "gives away a clear win" here, because my opponent played 25.Qb4 in this position. F9 suggests 25.Qh6, but that doesn't seem any better than the played move.

It has nothing to do with the game, it has to do with Fritzes analysis. Ok 7ate....Bardeleben?

I'm going to run it through chessmaster 10. But in the meantime, I've used engines to analyze games and sometimes the computer just doesn't make any sense because it doesn't have enough time or something. Did you run it through Fritz twice or just once??

First I annotated on my own, with Fritz's suggestions on at the same time, and I noticed that after my move 23 F9 called the position a draw, but immediately after Rg8 (note that he played F9's suggested moves) it went back down to -6. It apparently did the same thing in its analysis.

Chessmaster says this about 24... Rg6

Uh-oh! Leads to 24.Qf8+ Rg8 25.Qh6, which does not result in any captures. Much better is Qc6, leading to 24.Qd2 e5 25.g3 f6 26.Re1 Re8 27.dxe5 fxe5, which wins a pawn for a pawn. Black's only meaningful error of the game gave away a won position, but black was later able to manage a mate anyway.

I think I know whats up. It thinks its a draw because you'll in theory play Rg8 after he plays Qf8 and this will keep repeating for a draw.

Edit:

Move 25 it says:

Look out. Frees Black's rook from the pin. Leads to 25...b6 26.Re1 Qd6 27.Qb2 Qf4 28.g3 Qf3 29.Qc2 Rf6. Much better is Qh6. This was white's key error. White was not able to regain the lost ground and was eventually mated.

I think it was looking for a draw here. CMX says nothing about a won position. That is weird
