We have seen a lot of non-chess posts from non-OTB players recently so its time for CHESS.

The first game of the finals and the fight for third place were not without drama. The primary battle for all the marbles Grischuk uncorked a strong novelty, but Svidler seemed ready for it and eventually it was Grischuk who lost his way. In a repeat match against Ponomariov, Ivanchuk generated chances in the endgame but failed to make the most of them. Will history repeat itself?

wow, what an awesome game that was, once again the material is irrelevant, the underlying principle, black grabs the pawn, he suffers due to lack of development.

A Richter-Rauzer. from the World Cup where a 2400 player lost to a 2700 player in 35 moves. When this was still a chess forum a few weeks ago, the Richter-Rauzer was discussed.

Grischuk, Svidler and the winner of Ivanchuck-Ponomaryov match will play in the candidates tournament next year. So the real final of the world cup is Chucky-Pono. Chucky won today with black pieces and he leads 1.5 - 0.5! Now he has to survive only 2 games. Tomorrow Ivanchuck will play with white peices. Let's hope he will finish it tomorrow
