I've been scoring pretty well with the caro-kann line greenpawn introduced us to a few weeks ago. Here's a game against a pretty strong blitz player where I did nothing spectacular at all, but he just crumbled(blundering his bishop at the end). The only issue I've had with this line is when black fianchettos the king bishop. Then the game becomes closed and drawn almost. Though sometimes I can sac a knight on e6 for two pawns at the right moment and infiltrate with rooks. Anyway, here's the game:

So, thanks GP. See how easy chess can be.

Don't forget DT who actually played the game and made the annotation. 😛

Cheers Heinz - you are correct infact my input was quite little.
I spotted the game and asked David Tebb to note it up.

DT did ALL the work and I get all the praise...............I like it 😉

You will never get all the answer to one opening from one game.

My plan was to show you a method of play that was easily understood
and to prove it was not beyond anyone's capabilities to play in
this manner.

Chess is an easy game - the hard part is playing it.

Thanks again DT.

This is Fisher's way of handling the caro. 5. ...Qc7 is the best move, preventing the development of white's dark squared bishop to f5.

I have faced this variation with black, and although you are a bit passive for a while, I think white has better options.
