    Hi,

I got an enermous problem with the ancient defense to the king gambit.

I just lost three games to ... g5 and will maybe lose a third.

how can, us, gambit lovers, can deal with this stupid thing, we want to play the king gambit, the morra and etc, but this is trouble.

How can you play the King's gambit if you don't know how to deal with 3...g5?

On a separate note, does 3... h5 refute the King's gambit??

lol, I was thinking muzio as well before reading the comments, yes its agressive and very fun.

but why have trouble with g5? thats not as hard as d5 IMO, and theres other tougher lines..

maybe just play the danish instead

Which means don't play it, it's not for you. (it's not for most people anyways)

If you don't have that analysis, and ot many have it, then you'll lose against a Muzio afficionado.

I've always heard the problem with the muzio was that most players will refuse it with Bg7 (instead of g4), and get a sound position...

a little why I go with 4. d4 and not Bc4. I apply the same treatment to ...g5 as the fischer defense....

    taking the centre.
