    From group 8 in the championship tournament. Black could not force in the rook pawn. He tried for several moves. Game drawn.

    rp endings are the easy part.
    if white has any other pawn than a rook pawn
    it gets complicated as hell.

    It's a draw.Barring inconceivable blunders you cannot force promotion of a rook pawn when the enemy king holds the corner.But I have the feeling you already knew that....

    Ok, no I didn't know for sure, just misinterpreted the tone of the original post as suggesting that it was winning for white. Should probably get a book and study these things..... Cheers for the response
