Hi guys.

Heinzcat posted a couple of wonderful Knight mates in the middle
of the recent thread 'The Joy of Knight Mating' but that thread has
gone all tits up and these masterpieces seem to have slipped by unnoticed.

Marvel at the perfect and humerous timing of the first one.

And the second one is like watching a 'B' movie.
The Three Amigos! hunting down the Baddie.

Don't try to solve them, just click 'play' and enjoy the sheer artiristy
that went into composing these wee of joys of creativity.

These are all very lovely - nowhere near as good as the first too though.

I wonder if anyone has put that 2nd one through a box to see
if it's cooked.

What does that mean, to put it in a box to see if it's cooked? Forgive my ignorance please. Just wondering?

It's GP slang for feeding the position to a chessengine (a box) to see how it handles it (an attempt to make the thing implode aka 'cook it'😉

You guys kill me. LOL After reading some of the "other" knights mates threads. It would be aweful if I disclosed that I did not know who "the pride and sorrow" was either. However, I do claim to be green and am very aware of Fisher and Capablanca. I don't know where Kasparov falls in all of that but it looks like I need a good book to thicken what I don't know. I will be researching Morphy though probably all evening. LOL I don't know shloads about them but I do know who they are. 😀

On a more serious note a chess problem is "cooked" when there are more than one key(ie first) moves.
