Hi

In another thread I mentioned

"it's when the player plays unambitious chess from an unambitious
opening when it's get dull."

Well this opening does not look like it has much going for it.
Queen off at move 11, one open file for the Rooks to be exchanged...

Watch the fertile mind of Jack Rudd cook up a wonderful piece of
OTB entertainment.

Everyone has read how good it is to have the two Bishops but when
they get the two Bishops they expect the game to win itself.

This is how to use the two Bishops. Diagram from the game.

Now click play and watch the Bishops rule Both Knights and a Rook.
Lovely stuff.

Jack Rudd is one of the most talented players I've ever met, and incredibly fast!

However, in this game isn't he completely busted after 20. ... Rd3 and then 21. ... hxg5? (vacating d8 so his king has somewhere to run to after 22. fxe5).

Hi

I've seen a few of his games in CHESS and he's been keeping me
right in getting the English players sex right on the Corner.

(I've been calling girls guys and visa versa).

I don't look for the bum chords in an inspired OTB game - I enjoy the music.

It all kicks off with the exchange sac to get onto f7. Black had
to match White's energy and inspiration, he failed. 1-0.

It's a great game all right, I was just trying to work out what I would have done if I'd been Black.

Without detracting from the game or the conception underpinning it, Jack did have a 400 point 'margin of error' in his favour which probably relaxed him a bit.

Maybe but strength of opposition doesn't seem to bother him.

Last year at the british championship he turned down a draw offer from Boggie Lalic [who hasn't lost at the British for years] to fight on for the win. Buggered it up and lost later but still ...

I've been following Jack's progress since he mentioned he was attending the South Wales Congress on facebook and I really did like that game. Good idea to put it here!

Any idea how Jack could have improved on his game against the Colle?
