The Olympic Opening?

Only Chess

I've been looking in my openings book and cant find it, does anyone know what to play against this unusual line. I find I always end up with a bad bishop and find it difficult to develop easy. Would be interested in what moves others play for this opening. Thanks

That would be helpful considering it's not in my extensive opening book. Or anywhere I can find on the internet.

I looked through the internet myself last night hoping to help here, but alas, I can find no reference to it either.

I couldn't find it either. Are you sure you got the name correct?

Of course he is the guy who had a long debate about how chess being part of the olympics would solve world hunger or something. Then he ceremonially kicked me out of his thread by PM as I disagreed with him. Then every day or so he would make a post in it agreeing with himself.
Maybe this is just some crazy plan.

Maybe this is one of those childish tricks where one kid says, "Hey, did you see that crazy thing on the playground today?" and not wanting to be left out, The other kid goes, "Oh, yeah, that was sweet...". But the other kid made the whole thing up and then proceeds to embarass the poor kid. I dunno, I know alot about openings and I have never once heard about this, so this guy is probably just acting stupid.

Oh ...the olympic opening. I know that one but it was refuted long ago! Black always wins due to a queen sac on g2 followed my mate in 50!

there is no queen sac on g2 in my book. Its like a reverse Latvain for anyone interested . Four gm's who have regular success cant be wrong .
Surely you guys are right?

Would you be so kind as to post the pgn from your book here for that olympic opening. I rather like learning new and obscure openings myself.

I have yet to be convinced it even exists. I did a search on "reverse latvian" and various combinations of this with the word olympic but could not find any references to the opening you are talking about.

The closest I could find that is anything like a reverse latvian is a king's gambit. 😛

A reverse Lativan would qualify as a Kings gambit according to my opening theory ;-).

You could also be referring to the Chigorin defence: 1.d4 d5. 2.c4 Nc6...

Oh well then your talking about the kings gambit. Fisher also claimed to have refuted it.
