    Blog 4

read the Welcome To My World bit first.

I know it's a bit conry flakes for a title but look at the time of the post.
    5.00 am in the morning.

First was a wee tester just getting used to some of the new features....I'll warm up.

This is great. Now anyone who so much as dares to disagree with me
in the forum gets BLOGGED. 😉

I've left the comments on for the first one - after that I'm not too sure
why I need to. We can chat in the Chess Forums.

(It's easier to post in the forums, there is technical stuff I have to do
when doing the bloggy thing, lots of { and { and /// and things.)

    Hello Planet GreenPawn,

    This is Planet Grit.

I will try to keep up with your blogs. I can't write blogs of my own as I am much too busy reading those old dusty discarded chess books you told me to read including the one that makes me dizzy.

My planet is quite small and day turns to night very fast and so for now I have to sign off. And I might add, it is pretty dusty here too.

Keep on with your blogs. I'll be reading...

    Hi Greenpawn,

It's nice to see that you got your own planet. Unfortunately, I haven't yet figured out how to get there. Do I hang a right at Saturn, or what?

And again, Grit mentions the book that makes him dizzy. I have to confess, I saw that book in a bookstore the other day, and it made me dizzy too. I can't imagine what the publisher was thinking on this one. (Three martini lunch that day? ) But the publisher slapped a bible moniker on it, so I guess I'm not allowed to say anything critical about it. So I won't.

In fact, I noticed two other beginner's books that also used the 3-D real board photo layout, and I have to say, I think those are worse than simple 2-D diagrams. (Imho) So maybe real 3-D boards are best, then 2-D diagrams, then the kind that make you dizzy.

I should have known someone would take me literally.

But thanks for the help anyway. 🙂

I always picture GP pronouncing his handle the same way Tim the Enchanter says "grail."

    Hi Guys.

I'll have some fun and see if I can give Monty some more mental images.

Judging by the PM's it appears loads of you have a terrible games
that you want the world to see.

I really do love Chess Players.

This is posted on The Planet Blog.

"I want blunders, cheap shots, swindles and freaky games.
It must be played on here and no blitz games. "

So far I have had two OTB games and one blitz game. 🙂

One lad PM'd me telling all about a game and how exciting it was,
"...it even has a triple blunder."

Now I've seen some things in my time but a triple blunder....wow!

Is this one moves that is actually 3 blunders or is it 3 blunders in row?

I'll never know because he never sent me the game or even gave it's ID.
    He just talked about it.

My Holy Grail is finding a game where a guy has mate in one, misses
it and instead plays a move that allows a mate in one.

    I'll find it.

I read a bit of that book and I too felt dizzy.

However if you look at it upside down you start to feel undizzy.

Grit try studying it upside down. Let us know how you get on.

I tried turning the book upside down. Still made me dizzy. So then I stood on my head with the book upside down and that was worse.

So then, still standing on my head, I turned the book right side up. That worked. No dizziness at all. You ought to try that.

This reminds me of the old Star Trek joke:

"What do the Enterprise and Toilet paper have in common?"

"They both circle Uranus and wipe out Kingons!"

I am officially in line for the first Planet Greenpawn T-shirt.

I'm sure I'll have kids all over Florida scouring iTunes for the downloads!

    Hi Paul.

    T-shirts are so old fashioned.

Grennpawn hats that pull down over your face.

I'll see if I can get a pic of one for the next posting.
