I really love (or hate, when I'm on the receiving end) how much a game can be turned around by a pawn making it down the board while too much attention is being paid elsewhere.

I'm feeling really good about this example right now:

Game 1063766

Anyone else care to share one?

This game was in my favor most of the time then Ravello turned it around and crushed me with 2 promoted pawns. Game 1111955. It was a very well played game on both sides for most of the game except for my play at the end.

Its also all about timing and position..
Game 1045232

Around move 44 or so...we both promoted on the same move. Unfortunately for my opponent, he never got a chance to use it...

Resurrecting this thread to show you a tense, scrappy epic (took 3 months, which for me is unusually long) that finally got solved by a pawn scrambling for the finish line.

The discovered check by rook at 54, with promotion to queen, was brutal. If not for that check, you could probably have forced a checkmate of his king with your queen and rook.

Pity white lost that game. He missed an easy draw by 35.Qh6+.

Here's my contribution. I've seen this type of finishing combination before, but I was nevertheless thrilled to be able to play it in one of my own games.

Game 1118352

Key position is:

Black to play and win.
