The Variety

I think one of the things unique to chess is all the variation. It came to me after playing this game earlier as white.

It is a checkmate I go for now when the stars align like they did after black's 3rd move. There was some excitement hoping it would work out, but once black played 7.Nxe5 the excitement ended. I just smiled and played out the mate.

The thing is the game in the end was kind of hollow. If most games turned out like this, then chess would not be much fun at all, more like tic tac toe.

It is the growth and the variety of the games that make it interesting, then when you see someone lose the same way you used to lose, you can see how the worm has turned.

It is also fun playing against people who play what you used to play. It is like visiting an old friend and you can show the person why you quit playing it lol.

Nice mate, I think I would have played d4 for black not dxc4.

People usually do. That is the book move.

Oh and playing blitz is nice too. I have beaten a 2000 on this site's blitz and a 1700 on another just now. My blitz rating is usually 200 points lower than here, so that was nice.

But then you lose to a person 200 points below you so you can't get too full of yourself.

In blitzes, what level does this line stop working?

I am think I am experiencing something new, I guess I have lost and won enough games now and seen my rating rise and fall enough that those things really do not matter.

I can now appreciate my opponent's play. I suppose I do not give it enough thought. But at least I can appreciate a good opponent, which I really could not do before. Goog game now means appreciation not just a meaningless gesture.

At the level where someone's read Euwe...

Lol, 1500s have fallen for it. Perhaps 1700s, could be.

But at any given time I could be an 1100 or a 1600.

8:.. f6 was on the table, Blitz thinking, from Bean to Cup you eventually F/up...(edit) I'm on about the first posted game. Their is a name to this opening, maybe 'GreenPawn' can put it out. I have my Bible, urgh, no energy to look.

I find my blitz results are much better when my mind is functioning well, for me this means I am still playing when I should be asleep. It also helps to be in a positive mood, not thinking that I will lose another game now that I am on this losing streak.

I still makes me very angry when I lose to who by play and rating is a much weaker chess player.

I suppose it is a character flaw.

But once again variety, it does not happen much anymore. And it isn't because it is nearly impossible to find a weaker player lol.
