The warrior pawn!

The warrior pawn!

Only Chess

Greetings players and fellow patzers

So recently I concluded 2 of my games where I play the bishop's opening, a current favourite amongst my repertoire as white

Both games led to 5 Queens being played, you will find one of them in the 'share interesting game' thread (I won't re-post again)

The second I am posting here

Before I do though, note one thing... the g2 pawn
That little soldier deals 22 points worth of damage on its own... then a further 10 points once promoted!
Totaling 32 points, a record?

If anyone can top that, show it please 🙂

As the game doesn't appear to be showing when I preview post, I will go ahead and post it right after this (assuming it works, watch this space)

Amusing game and comments. Thank you for sharing!

Was it only after the game was over that you were aware that the g pawn did all that? Or were you keeping track in the heat of battle?

Every now and then you get someone who just refuses to draw this most obvious of drawn endings! Good on you for making him pay for refusing to draw.

I have someone right now with a king and knight against my king who refuses to draw. It'll be tough making him pay for that.

I had noticed around the time of taking the third piece

I then felt a need to try and keep that piece alive until the end if possible, so he could home for the victory parade
but sadly the brave little bugger fell right at the end...

RIP, sir g2

That soldier deserves your medal of honor award.

hughes - xela01 RHP 2006

Features a mighty d-pawn.

"I have someone right now with a king and knight against my king who

I see that game is now drawn Game 9377975.
Don't know why the lad played on. Maybe you upset him.
in Game 5010926 same conditions his King and Knight v King
he agreed a draw right away.

His mistake in the game v dzirilli was taking the last pawn.

This one is even more convincing.
