The Worst Feeling In The World

I was playing Life Master Joel Johnson at my chess club today and blew a won endgame. It is particularly wretched because he is a full 1000 rating points better than me. what a missed opportunity. i'll post the game in a bit. We went over the endgame immediately afterwards, so anyone who can give me insight into my middle game and opening play would be greatly appreciated.

no help? i went through and found some winning endgame moves, but anything before the rook endgame is still a mystery to me.

i know. i had less than 3 seconds on my clock. i was trying to force a draw, but in the minimal amount of time i had left miscalculated the pawn endgame.

Is there a reason you did not get a chance to go over the rest of the game with the life master?

That's one of the best parts I like about playing OTB. Going over the game after! 🙂

Even GMs make incredible mistakes in less time pressure than that. I would give myself a pat on the back for how well you did do, regardless of the result. BTW what is you're USCF rating?
