A look at a recent Magnus Carlson comment and a note in a
John Nunn article from 1993 both saying roughly the same thing.

Doing and solving chess puzzles does you no good at all.

Of course I (and many other players and coaches) disagree
but I can understand why they said what they said and suggest
a puzzle solving method they might agree with that suits everyone.
