Hello everyone,
I joined a 1200-1300 banded tournament about 6 weeks ago. When I joined my rating was a honest 1275. Afterwards, however, I began working on tactics and my rating has since jumped to 1450. The games are still going and my opponent's rating is 1200. Is it fair for me to continue this tournament or should I resign?
Thanks for your opinion,
Drew

Yes, reap the rewards of your work while you can. If you stay at that level, you will have to play in higher banded groups next time you enter a tournament so you might as well enjoy it while the chance is there.
heres one where everybody as improved: Tournament 2114

Originally posted by Drew LMy rule of thumb has been that if I'm 150 out of the band, I resign. And I've done so many times. I feel that it's the best thing for the spirit of the banded tourney. But that's my choice. You make your own.
