Can person please list one trap in a poening that they know. i am currently creating a comprehensive list of traps.

I fell for this one from the Scotch the first time I saw it: 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 exd4 4. Nxd4 Bc5 5. Be3 Nf6? (Qf6 is ok.) 6. Nxc6 wins the bishop on c5 and messes up black's pawns.

You should also check out Bruce Pandolfini's Chess Traps and Zaps. I hope you're learning these so you don't fall for them rather than trying cheap shots... it won't do you any favours in the long run.
