I have a question for those who play the traxler attack. How do you continue
this variation : 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4.Ng5 Bc5 5.N:f7 N:f2+ 6.K:f2 Ne4+ 7.Kg1 Qh4 8.Qe2 Nd4 9.Qe3 N:c2 10.Qe2 ?
I couldn't find a good variation for black, only a repetotion: Qe2 Nd4 Qe2 Nd4. Do you have a better continuation ?
Originally posted by SquelchbelchQe2 at a first glance looks pretty solid. I don't know why it is not played more often. Still I feel that the black should still win after the given sequence of moves
Black can't play 10...Rf8, 10...d5 or 10...Ng3 here so a draw isn't so bad.
10...Qf2+ 11.Qxf2 Nxf2 12.Kxf2 Rf8 is interesting. I think White would play 13.d3 then 13...c6 threatening 14...d5:

(1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4.Ng5 Bc5 5.Nxf7 Bxf2+ 6.Kxf2 Ne4+ 7.Kg1 Qh4 8.Qe2 Nd4 9.Qe3 Nxc2 10.Qe2)
EDIT : just checked my database, 10 Qe2 after all looks like an easy draw in traxler yet I can not find any games wwith that line.
