Should a position be set up where it is white's move and black has no piece but his king (in it's natural position) and white's pieces are all in their starting positions, how long would it take white to mate?

I looked it up on fritz and the results surprised me a little.

wouldnt it depend on the position? if whites in there starting spot, id say 4..

Having given it very little thought, I would imagine it takes the queen, supported by bishop, as the king can run and these are the two most mobile pieces intially?

Could be forced in 8 easily: White moves as follows (insert "K-moves" for all of Black's responses) 1. e4 2. Qh5 3. H4 4. Rh3 5. Rg3 6. Rg6 7. Qh7 8. Rg8#

Could probably be done faster, this way is just kinda obvious.

Okay I'll give you guys a hint. The fastest way involves moving pawns and your queen, nothing else.
