ivan2908 (before game started) : hi

x : (nothing for 15 minutes then, but then suddenly, after he made decisive tactical shot where he grabbed my queen) : oh, hi (why oh, and why now, I thought 😛)

ivan2908: hi again! Well played (preparing resignation)

x: sorry i am new here (probably implying "I am new here and you still cannot win"😉

x: ty (I dunno what this means)

This is mild case, the last time opponent didn't reply to my hi but instead after 10 of minutes of playing when he got advantage he said : You are all the same, you are all the same, same cheap tricks, you play so bad ..

It wasn't on RHP blitz. 😛

Anyway, what is wrong with them, their mum didn't breastfed them enough, nobody sought them in seeking game when they were kids , they were severely bullied with hard metal objects in school ? Or maybe they are in their 30' and they never kissed a girl ?

poor fellows if I only knew their diagnosis maybe I could help them somehow..?

I think you are overinterpreting there. In my first game here, I didn't see a message my opponent had sent until several moves later. I guess the same could happen in a real-time game as well. And in addition you have the clock ticking, so it makes sense that your opponent would say something at that specific point in the game, after the pressure was gone. "ty" means "thank you".

Edit: I think the most likely meaning of "sorry i am new here" in this context would be "sorry that I didn't say hi earlier, I am new here and hadn't figured out the chat thing yet".

It could be but some opponents you can not understand wrong. Look at the Squelchbelch post in uchess thread to see his experience.

I have chat turned off while playing. otherwise people try to distract & run your clock down by sending messages at critical times.

Unless they were referring to me in an informal way.

I once had an opponent who stayed completely silent until I forced the win of his queen and rather than handing her over, he made me wait 6 minutes for the win while berating me in the message window for my poor play. That one *was* RHP blitz unfortunately.

Some people are such bad losers.

A recent RHP Blitz game between the OP and myself...

game ends.

Maxwell Smart: "gg"

system message: Opponent has disconnected

Don't complain about rudeness and bad manners unless you have sure footing.

Huh ? Your opponent was maybe distracted and disconnected without seing your gg ! 😛

1. OP means Original Poster (that's you)
2. You graciously made my real point, which was that there may have been a very legitimate explanation for what your opponent did in the first case which you cited that you did not consider.

You're welcome.

Yes but we had a rematch and I told you gg there. Even more I apologized for that and explained my reasons.

As I stated in my first post in this thread I was taking mild case for example which could be misunderstood from me. But there are worse examples, like one posted by other user in this thread, I was talking about things like that.

You don't. It can not be done. You can be banned but your profile and graph would still stand here.

I was just having a bit of fun with you, and you did say gg the next time we played, just in case anyone got the wrong idea about you. I do honestly agree that there is entirely too much rude behavior in internet Chess. RHP Blitz is no exception.

Speaking of RHP blitz, has anyone else had the problem where you can't move the pieces??
