Out of the 4 games I played with this user I thought I had this one for sure.

At least you know how a stalemate works now.

🙂

It wasn't a stalemate, it was a draw under the repetition rule.

It was. Not forced though, you could've played Kh8 and got mated 😉

Yep, I felt losing 5 points was better then losing 20 though

He played 40.Kg2, I would have played 40.Nc5+ and win the game.
A draw was a good result for you.

You mean 41.Kg2
White had a very good reason to opt for that move instead of your 41.Nc5+ 😉

😕

Move 41. Kh2g2 was made as I was in check, so couldn't move Nc5+.

Had I gone Ne5+ I would have lost knight after Kf6.

A draw I felt was a good result for me given my position in the endgame.

Of course, how silly...
I would have lost this game if I'm not thinking longer than my nose reach... 😳

31. Ng6 might have been good.

It is quite a nice stalemating trick, I will make that motive into a puzzle one day.

Why do people keep saying that was stalemate?

I wish I knew 😕

Maybe they prefer saying stalemate then draw by the move repetition rule
