HI Rusty,

No I've never been mod.

I recall quite a while ago every other thread was about cheating
and paranoia here was rife. Everyone was raising a red flag against
everyone else.
Members were getting banned not for cheating but for naming cheats
or insulting each other. Some of the threads were quite septic.
It was all quite funny.
My last red flag was about 15 years ago when I started the blog.
@greenpawn34,

I have no idea why someone would flag you for starting a blog.

Hi Very-Rusty

I mean, I raised a red flag because I thought someone was at it.
It was fairly obvious and I knew I was not the only person raising a
flag against that player, they were banned.

No idea if I was given a red flag. Probably did because I won a lot of
games by cheap tricks (my forte) and my opponent got upset.

It got to a stage where if you saw a good sac-sac combination you were
a bit wary of playing it because your opponent has missed it and they will
think you used an engine to find it and raise a red flag against you.

I know an expert went over my games and declared me OK.
I recall I was one of the lowest scores for matching up computers moves
which I was a bit miffed at. I thought I played some good games but the
computer was pulling them to bits.
Good players, not cheating were registering scores of 75% (cheats were over 90% )
I came in with 50%-65% with the computer saying I played some ?? moves.

Once I started the blog I decided not to get involved in the site
politics and just have some fun.

@greenpawn34,

Take it from me Geoff getting involved in Site Politics is the best thing to stay away from. I should have listened to my own advice years ago!!! 😉

in fact I won a game I was very proud of: Game 12394151.

I went over that with shreedre and was (of course) being told my place: Most of my moves were not in the top three choices of the computer ...so it was more my opponent losing the game than me winning.

And all tricks of course wikll register low with the computer who is not frghtened but claculates the optimum reply.

@mchill I'm pretty sure I've been up against at least two. I mean, whatever. It's just a game if you're not a professional.
