In looking at it for about 5 seconds...

1. fxg6 hxg6
2. Nf5+ Kf7 (2...Kh8?? 3. Qh6+ Kg8 4. Qg7🙄
3. Qh6

Hmm, actually, I don't think that works. I'll think about it some more.

2. Rxg6+ Kf7
3. Qh6

is better. Quite sure that's not the solution though due to the anticipated 1...hxg6.

Although I don't think that leads anywhere.

Black got something going there. For black look at

1. - Nc3+!!

If white takes the N with the b pawn then black captures back with a discovered check and attacking white's Queen.
If white doesn't stop this move within his next move then white is going to lose heavy material. (His Queen or his Rook). When I look at it more, white could eventually get mated

Really I have no idea how to help white here

the best i have is 1.f4, getting an entry square..

Is white supposed to win?

White needs a quick kill that I just don't see. Maybe start with Qh6+!?
