"maybe you should try playing someone closer to your own rating. "

This comment was made in another post. I`m not being critical of the person who posted it, but how can you do as it says?
Whenever I post a game offer, I always get offers from people rated much lower than myself.
Maybe it`s a girl thing and nobody wants to play with me. (Not at chess, anyway!)

When you post a game in the open invite , you can put restrictions on the ratings that you want to play against so that lower people can't accept it, if you prefer that. This option wasn't available until the p is dropped from your rating, which only happened 2 games ago for you, so you might not have noticed it prior due to that fact.

I usually look up from the 'player tables' the page that has players the rating I'm looking for. then I challenge them. you can do the same with 'find player' too. and I think you can also restrict your 'open invites' to a certain range of ratings.

You can set the rating limits, e.g. > 1600.

Thanks for the replies. I did post a rating which was just below mine on several occasions but no one seems to take any notice of it.

You might find that playing people who are just over your rating will do you more good. If you loose, your rating doesn't get hurt too much. If you win, your rating goes up a nice big chunk. You'll improve a lot quicker playing better players as well... 😉
