A particular player, who I will not name, is on track of absolutely schooling me and beating me 3 times in a row, often off Tal like scacrefices and mates that are almost impossible, probably were impossible to stop, which is why I lost no matter how hard I thought for refutations.

Now normally I would be happy to lose to such "great" players and learn a few things, but the problem is, when I first started playing this guy, he was only a mere 1400 rater, after beating me twice and my rating droping in the bucket, and offering a rematch, in which he was then actually a better player then me, which was more accurate, because the dude was playing like a 1900 rater and nobody absolutely killed me so easily before, I am playing another game against him in which he sacrefices 3 minor peices, to try and mate my king.

Now I stoped the mate, but I couldn't save myself from eventually allowing him to queen a passed pawn, I will lose this game too, 3 straight losses against one dude, but to make matters worse, by the time this game is reaching it's conclusion, he dipped down to the low 1500's. AGAIN, the rating system deems he is "inferior" and I will lose mega pts.

Call me paranoid, but 1400-1500 raters are simply not this good, and wouldn't demolish me so easily with Tal like kingside attacks/sacrefices. I could understand how the dog would have his day in 1 game against me, but for 3 games in a row, sorry, can't really accept that entirely. As I said, I may be paranoid, but I think this dude is PURPOSELY losing a lot of his games in a coup attempt to ruin my rating, and is actually a lot better player then his rating chart ever indicated. My 3 losses against him will result in a total of 100 pts lost, to one guy, that's simply rediculous.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with certain RHP players? Players who seem to offer many matches against you in particular, beat you all the time like some GM, yet somehow, their rating is lower then yours everytime and you get screwed over everytime? The guy is also from a clan that isn't too respectful either, but that's a whole different story. . .

Anyways, I suppose I learned my "lesson" from this, a painful lesson at that, if a player offers you several matches, beats you all the time, yet continues to have a lower rating and you're thinking to yourself, "I have to be able to beat this guy", chances are he's a good player screwing with ratings and probably takes fun in screwing certain players personnas, he does not like, over and over. It will probably take me 2-3 months to get my rating back to where it normally is because of this stunt. . .:'(

I'm not whining, I'm sure I'll get back up there SOMEDAY, I just thought it would be educational to warn players of such behaviours and I wonder if anyone else has experienced something similar?

I think that way too, but this guy, is 3 for 3 against me, and played Tal like sacrefices that eventually lead to an immediate mate or me giving up terrible positional concessions to stop it. I don't think something like this can simply be classied as "he's just good against me, a nemesis" or "it's just a coincidence", players only play at that level and ability if they are simply accustomed to it in all their games.

I doubt with my play, he "suddenly sees the light", and becomes Tal. Also, in all 3 games, I didn't play the same, all different openings, all different plans, yet my king was dead, the Tal sacrefices came, mate was innevitable, so it can't be a case of him picking up on my one trick pony style, I have MULTIPLE STYLES and I used 3 different ones in each game against him.

Something isn't right in Darkwood, this all seems kinda fishy to say the least, anyways, I'm avoiding him from now on for good sake, but he is in some of my tournies and I may face him AGAIN in the future, argh, and I'll never beat him, I'm convinced I can't at this point, he's simply WAYYYYYYY better tacticly then I am.

What a coincidence. I lose games too!

There's something very fishy going on here...

How did I know who the author was just by looking at the title of the thread? Amazing. I must be psychic.

Are most of your losses against the same guy with a lower rating then you? I think not. . .

Look at his other public games. He probably throws material at everybody. You are just not very adept at stopping the onslaught.

How about you post the games in question. That way we can point out where you went wrong, possibly in a humorous fashion.

If the sacrifices actually were sound, then your blunder was made before he executed them. Hence, you lost because you made a mistake, mate. Every winning combination is preventable.

Yeah, and 1400 raters make routine 10-12 move combination mating sacrefices, whatever. . .

You remind me of my sister.

I ignored your cheating accusation completely, mate. I was simply pulling you up for your ridiculous claim that your opponent's combinations were impossible to stop.

But, if you want to talk about the rest of your post: Are you sure the combinations were actually sound? Are you sure the player isn't actually a good player who simply relaxes and plays quickly here, except, for reasons impossible to imagine, has taken a special interest in applying all his skills and time to beating you?

An aggressive 1500 beating a 1600 who seems to believe that flinging all the White pieces at the enemy king always wins, doesn't seem too shocking to me, mate.

Yes, please.

If you're gonna accuse someone of cheating, the least you can do is post the games where you think it happened. Otherwise it just sounds like more Mateulose trademark whining, "Wahh! I lost!" and you should be prepared to be ignored appropriately.

And, I've mentioned this before, Mateulose--your rating isn't a guarantee that *nobody* who has a rating lower than yours will be able to beat you. You have this strong sense of entitlement, that your rating somehow "entitles" you to never be beaten by someone with a lower rating.

You seem to be saying now, in this particular instance, that this guy, whoever he is, could only have beaten you if he had used a chess engine. And I'm like, "Whoa! Are we talking ego here or what?"

Post the games. Let's see what's really going on.

Adding: What exactly are you accusing him of here? Using a chess engine to beat you? Or using a chess engine only against you, to beat YOU, so as to "wreck your rating"?

Guys,
Did you think before that position is winable for you? I assume this position comes with winning by default that he offers you. Don't accept this position and that is it. Try to start game with him from first move. May be he learned this position for years.
