I like the black lion because I hope white gets too aggressive and castles kingside. It gives me a chance to get an attack on white's king.

Of course if white plays passively, it really is much like most e4 e5 stuff.

Well, I suppose you could get so good at middle games that you could dig out of inferior ones. But it would be better to START with a good middle game position.

If you don't see how to play it, a good middle game position would not be appreciated and could be easily blown.

Just stumbled on Nimzo-Indian Kmoch variation for a d4 continuation. I think I like it.

When playing the black lion I play c6 in part to blunt the knight which seems to always be played to c3. In the same way I like how f3 blunts the knight on f6.
